As we’re in the full swing of summer (and hot hot weather), I’m happy to say that I have a few upcoming trips planned. With that, my blog might take a slight backseat to my frolicking in ocean waves and spending time with friends & family. Sometimes, you just have to take the time to appreciate the present moment and just breathe. But I’m not gone forever, and I’m always on twitter and Instagram! See you in a few 🙂

As I’m on the brink of my move date, (August 4th!) I am finding myself more and more excited about decorating and organizing. Since the apartment is small, I’ve been scouring the boards of Pinterest to find the best options for myself and my budget in the new place. Here are a few ideas I’m totally going to steal!  Recently I’ve been noticing lots of gorgeous party tables on Pinterest, and am determined to someday host a color and pattern-coordinated event. Who says you have to wait for your bridal shower to go all out?! First thing on my list of ideas: monogrammed placemats. It’s the perfect way to have a consistent table while also giving guests something useful and personal to take home with them! Now if only choosing a color and pattern weren’t so daunting…

Being an extremely indecisive (and yes, somewhat picky) girl, I have trouble committing to apartment decor. One day I’m all about the blues and greens and yellows, while the next I am obsessing over all things pink. I’m loving this idea of framing tissue paper, wrapping paper, stationary, you name it! An easy, inexpensive fix for any wall. Now, let’s get crafting!

I think we can all agree that the chocolate chip cookie will always appeal as a scrumptious dessert. It’s been modified to extremes, but sometimes going back to basics can be just the thing to make you appreciate what you’ve always loved and what has been right all along…

…Then sometimes you decide that the unfinished product (cookie dough) is just as good as the end result. And sometimes combining the two is exactly what the doctor ordered! Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cookie Sandwiches – the new classic. Because who can resist a little raw dough?! This version is eggless, so there’s no need to limit yourself (maybe that’s more dangerous though)!

So. Good. And, the dough can also be used as a dip (think animal crackers and graham crackers for pairings).

One of my absolute favorite holidays is just around the corner! While I won’t be in New England to celebrate the 4th (I’ll be back home – DC seems like an appropriate place to celebrate America!), I love a good nautical look.

a real truck bed

Anybody out there a big camper? I like to think I am, but in reality, sometimes laying on the hard ground where you can’t seem to find the perfect level of covers all while being attacked by bugs doesn’t always appeal to me. This image epitomizes my happy medium when it comes to camping. This looks almost more comfortable than my own bed! I’d love to be doing this over the weekend, anyone else?!
